History

In 1974, WODU Radio was played throughout academic buildings of the campus upon

launching. The station was broadcasted for twenty eight years on 1650 AM in the
Hampton Roads Metropolitan Area. Being a company, that evolves and thrives off of the
growth in transition of media, the company felt the need to meet the community at its
desired needs.

From 2002 to present day, WODU Studios has been broadcasting on the campus's
internal cable television system - "MonarchVision.” More recently, WODU Studios
has decided to shift its focus to Online Radio programming, which has been proven
to be the leading means of media relations in the 21st century. Our company, WODU
Studios stream live and is one of the single-most leading companies broadcasting elite
music shows, sports broadcasting, talk-shows and more via the Ustream platform and
continues to venture into greater online platforms. Not only is WODU Studios limited to
online broadcasting but expands its network by providing live television broadcasting via
Monarch Vision, of which delivers live contact on the campus of WODU Studios to over
4,000 students, faculty, staff, and guests of the university.
